…….a few words on Kristin Hannaford
Kristin Hannaford is a poet who likes to blur the edges between text and experience. Kristin has an Arts degree (first class Hons.) in English and Creative Writing from the University of New South Wales . She lives in Yeppoon, Central Queensland.
Kristin's new poetry book – Fragile Context is published by Post Pressed (August 2007). Her first collection Inhale was published in Swelter (Interactive Press 2003) as part of IP's Emerging Author Series. In 2007 her poetry appeared in the anthology ‘The Best of IP'.
Poetry editor for Central Queensland University's literary publication Idiom 23( 2004-2006), in 2007 Kristin was also tutor for the Queensland Writer's Centre, presenting ‘Bootcamp' poetry workshops with Ross Clark in regional Queensland. In 2008 she will be the Regional Liaison Officer (Rockhampton) for the Queensland Writers Centre.
Kristin's work has been published in many Australian journals, e-zines and newspapers – most recently Idiom 23, Thylazine, Otoliths, Foam:e, 1001 nights cast, Papertiger 5/6, Famous Reporter, Small Packages 2005 QPF Anthology, ‘The Cool Breath Burn'- Newcastle Poetry Prize Anthology 2004 and Radio National's Poetica. Kristin has received awards for her poetry, including first prize for her poem Grasslands in the 2004 Leichhardt New Media Poetry Prize, and joint second prize for Shoalwater in Newcastle New Media Poetry Prize 2004. Poems from the multimedia sequence Wetland Sonnets , are included in Stephen Butler's 2007 documentary ‘The Rainbow Coalition Rides Again', while her essay on this work appears in James Stuart's 2007 anthology The Material Poem.
Kristin read at the 2007 Brisbane Writers' Festival, while in 2006 she was selected to attend the Varuna Longlines Poetry program for regional writers. Kristin loves presenting her work and has performed at the Queensland Poetry Festival (2002, 2003 and 2005) and at the QWC's ‘Wordpool' Rockhampton event in 2006 for National Poetry Week celebrations. Her poetry was presented in Strange Fruit for the 2004 Rockhampton Fringe Festival and at the Village Festival – Yeppoon (2004, 2005 2007). Kristin's poems have been broadcast on Poetica Radio National, ABC Rockhampton, 2MBSFM Brisbane and Radio NAG 91.3FM.
Kristin frequently gives poetry and writing workshops for both adults and children throughout the Central Queensland region and tutors in Literary and Cultural Studies at Central Queensland University . She continues to seek new ways to develop her work creatively and professionally.

READINGS
Kristin enjoys reading her work and has performed nationally and throughout Queensland . She has performed at the Queensland Poetry Festival 2002, 2003 and 2005; and toured with colleague western Queensland with QWC poetry colleague Ross Clark. Kristin's poetry has featured on Radio National Poetica, ABC Rockhampton, 2MBSFM Brisbane and RADIO NAG 91.3FM. She performed at ‘Wordpool' QWC's regional National Poetry Week event in Rockhampton in September 2006, and at the Village Festival –Yeppoon (2003, 2004, 2005). She was a featured reader at the Interactive Press Retrospective at the 2007 Brisbane Writers Festival.
